Trade Rumors Link Dolphins to Star Running Back

The Miami Dolphins have been busy since free agency opened, agreeing to a deal with top backup quarterback Mike White on Monday and trading for star cornerback Jalen Ramsey one day prior. Many are wondering what the team could do next with a sizable chunk of cap space still to work with.
Well, it turns out Miami's plans could involve another huge trade.
Atlanta and Miami said to have inquired on 4. I still see him here right now in 2023.

Darren Wolfson of ABC 5 in Minneapolis reports the Dolphins have "inquired on 4," which is in reference to Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook. Wolfson added Minnesota is expected to keep Cook as of right now, despite interest from Miami and the Atlanta Falcons.
Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald also corroborated Wolfson's information, noting the team has been "monitoring" Cook's pending contract situation.
Dolphins have been monitoring Cook situation with interest, but Minnesota at this point is expected to keep him, per NFL Net and @DWolfsonKSTP .. Due to make $10.4 M in 2023. Three years left on deal. https://t.co/GAi574BK7g

With two reports saying similar things, it appears there's a legitimate possibility the Dolphins ultimately swing a trade for Cook in the coming days.
The four-time Pro Bowler is coming off of a nearly 1,500-yard performance from scrimmage last year, but the Vikings have been very willing to let high-priced veterans walk this offseason, opening the door for a move. Minnesota's GM has even hinted at a split, adding even more fuel to the fire.
It's easy to see how adding a dynamic playmaker out of the backfield like Cook would transform Miami's offense. It remains to be seen if these rumors come to fruition, though.
