The kicker position is rarely more than an afterthought in fantasy football. Usually dismissed as an unfortunate necessity, many players simply draft their kicker and leave them plugged in as their starter until a bye week ultimately changes things.

That can leave a big edge for savvy fantasy owners though. The position tends to be inconsistent, but in Week 5 one of our streaming picks, Randy Bullock, finished tied for sixth at the position with 12 fantasy points while being owned in only one percent of Yahoo! Fantasy Football Leagues.

Here are the three top fantasy football kicker streaming options, owned in less than 50 percent of Yahoo! Fantasy Football leagues, for Week 6.

3. Matt Gay, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (22% Owned)

Matt Gay is third among kickers with 52 fantasy points on the season, making his low ownership a bit of a head-scratcher. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' offense has been clicking, and accordingly he's tied for first in the NFL with 17 extra point attempts, while his 12 field goal attempts are also tied for the fourth most in the league. Don't expect Tampa to slow down too much against a Carolina Panthers team that has given up fewer than 20 points in only one of their five games in 2019.

2. Zane Gonzalez, Arizona Cardinals (17% Owned)

The high-paced Arizona Cardinals have created fantasy value all over the place in their first season under Kliff Kingsbury, and that includes special teams. Zane Gonzalez's 17 field goal attempts are two more than any other kicker this year, so even though he's only notched six extra points, Gonzalez is still tied for fifth at the position in fantasy production. A matchup with the Atlanta Falcons should lend itself to a shootout, with Atlanta being one of only nine teams giving up over 6.0 yards per play this season, and that should mean plenty more opportunities for Gonzalez.

1. Mike Nugent, New England Patriots (26% Owned)

Replacing the injured Stephen Gostkowski, Mike Nugent made two field goals and hit three extra points in his first game with the New England Patriots. The Pats are expected to dominate the New York Giants on Thursday night, favored by 16.5 points on FanDuel Sportsbook, and in such a scoring-friendly spot, Nugent sits fifth among kickers in our Week 6 fantasy football rankings.
