Fantasy Baseball Outfield Rankings 2023
10. Luis Robert, Chicago White Sox
9. Michael Harris II, Atlanta Braves
8. Mike Trout, Los Angeles Angels
It seems impossible to think that three-time AL MVP Mike Trout is being overlooked heading into an MLB season, but that may be the case here. He tagged 40 home runs and slashed a reliable .283/.369/.630 in 2022 despite playing in only 119 games with a persistent back injury. The Angels made some lineup improvements over the offseason, giving Trout an opportunity to cross the century mark in runs and RBIs for the first time since 2019. His floor is among the highest of any outfielder.
7. Yordan Alvarez, Houston Astros
6. Kyle Tucker, Houston Astros
5. Mookie Betts, Los Angeles Dodgers
4. Julio Rodriguez, Seattle Mariners
Talk about a breakout campaign. Julio Rodriguez wasted no time making himself familiar to MLB fans as he cruised to AL Rookie of the Year honors last season. The multi-talented phenom tallied 84 runs scored, 28 home runs, 75 RBIs and 25 stolen bases in 132 games played with a slash line of .284/.345/.509. His strikeout percentage (25.9%) and walk rate (7.1%) need to improve, but he has plenty of time to work on plate discipline as Seattle's everyday center fielder.
3. Juan Soto, San Diego Padres
2. Aaron Judge, New York Yankees
1. Ronald Acuna Jr., Atlanta Braves
Ronald Acuna Jr. seems poised for a bounce-back campaign after slashing .266/.351/.413 with 71 runs scored, 15 home runs and 29 stolen bases in 119 games last season. He is one of only a few outfielders in baseball who hits in the leadoff spot and possesses a career hard-hit rate of over 51.0%. Acuna is a player that makes an impact in every scoring category, which can be said about only a handful of other pros. His ceiling is sky-high in 2023, with teammate Ozzie Albies already predicting a 40/40 campaign for the 25-year-old.
