Earlier this week, Kansas City Chiefs star Chris Jones made a bold proclamation about the team's Super Bowl chances going forward. He predicted the team would win five-plus Super Bowls, essentially becoming the NFL's next dynasty.
But his teammate Tyreek Hill decided to one up him, saying the team's goal is to win seven rings because they're chasing Michael Jordan. Clearly, that didn't sit right with another G.O.A.T., Tom Brady, and he responded on Twitter.
It's hard not to take these comments as a shot at Brady. They play the same sport, so Hill saying he's chasing Brady would've been a much more apt comparison.
We can't exactly get into Brady's head here, but it does seem like he might've been a little bothered by the lack of recognition. He clearly wanted to remind everyone that he currently has six rings, and is the only player who is actually chasing his seventh.
Unless they meet in the Super Bowl, fans won't get to see the Buccaneers and Chiefs settle it on the field. But if they do, this could certainly be some bulletin board material for Brady – and that's never a wise idea for an opponent.
