Tom Brady Fantasy Outlook Includes Top-10 QB Upside in Second Season With Buccaneers

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady defied expectations and had one of the best years of his career in 2020. He'll hope to hold off Father Time yet again as he heads into his age-44 season.

Brady should have zero problems being a top fantasy producer once again while leading a loaded Bucs' offense.

Tom Brady Fantasy Value

Brady finished as QB8 last year despite some early struggles. He's currently being drafted as QB9, according to FantasyPros, which shows little concern about any potential drop-offs from the veteran signal-caller.

Brady racked up 4,633 passing yards and 40 TDs last season in a huge bounce-back year. He finished the year with his highest output of yards since 2015 and second-most passing TDs ever behind his illustrious 2007 run.

The Bucs QB was at risk of losing some of his top weapons this offseason in free agency, but Tampa decided to double down and bring back all 22 starters from their Super Bowl-winning roster. Top wideouts like Chris Godwin and Antonio Brown will re-join Mike Evans, plus Rob Gronkowski is sticking around.

The Bucs also added a new toy for Brady in running back Giovani Bernard. The receiving specialist has career averages of 42.8 receptions and 358.4 yards per season, giving Brady the kind of pass-catching back he relied on while with the New England Patriots.

If there was a year for Brady to decline, though, it would be this year. He's coming off of knee surgery this offseason, and his body can only play at a high level for so long. Plus his value is only tied to the passing game, which caps his fantasy potential compared to the dual-threat QBs around the league.

Still, the pieces are there for Brady to succeed again. He has all the weapons in the world to wreak havoc in the passing game once again. And the chemistry he's built over the past year could help the team avoid the struggles they had to kick off the 2020 campaign.
