Titans News: Bud Dupree's Injury Update is Great News for Tennessee

Heading into the offseason, the Tennessee Titans were desperate to improve on their third-worst pass rush in the NFL from the 2020 season (19 sacks). One way the Titans addressed this issue was by signing former Pittsburgh Steelers OLB/EDGE Bud Dupree despite him suffering a torn ACL in Week 12.
Dupree hasn't been able to participate in the Titans' organized team activities and minicamp as he continues to rehab from this injury. However, he spoke to Titans reporters on Tuesday and revealed a positive update on his recovery.
"I am excited for the season ahead… I am just excited to get on the field to show (my teammates) I work hard."@Bud_Dupree Working Hard to Return ? » https://t.co/YArzM82MiB

Bud Dupree Titans News
“I’m recovering well. I’m on schedule. As far as when they’ll let me practice, I really don’t know. It’s up to them to decide what they want to do and how they want to go forward with it. I’m just taking it day-by-day and I’m excited for the season ahead."

Tennessee is hopeful for Dupree to be at full strength as the team heads into training camp in July. When fully healthy, the 28-year-old edge rusher offers a huge boost to the Titans pass-rush. In 2019, Dupree ranked top-10 in the NFL with his 11.5 sacks. He recorded 8.0 sacks in 11 games last season, which is on pace for a top-10 mark at around 11.5 sacks.
With the addition of star wideout Julio Jones and a potentially much-improved pass-rush, the Titans will look to make some noise in 2021. Currently, the Titans own favorable odds (-144) to make the playoffs, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
