Detroit Tigers shortstop Javier Báez had his solid start to the year interrupted by a thumb issue that popped up after just his fifth game. The injury forced the star free-agent signing to hit the 10-day injured list on April 13, which means his return was nearing, assuming there were no setbacks.
Now Tigers fans have received some exciting news on Báez ahead of Sunday's clash against the Colorado Rockies.
Javier Báez Injury Update
Báez was officially activated from the 10-day IL ahead of his team's game against the Rockies. Making things even better, he's back in the lineup and batting third for Detroit on Sunday.
The recent free-agent signing started off nicely with his new club, slashing .316/.350/.526 with 1 home run and 4 RBIs to begin the year. One highlight from his first few games with the Tigers came on April 8, when he delivered a walk-off single in his debut.
Hopefully there's more of that in store as he returns to the lineup for a 6-8 squad looking to make noise in the AL Central.
FanDuel Sportsbook's MLB odds favor the Tigers on the moneyline (-130) to defeat the Rockies (+110) on Sunday.
