The start to NFL Free Agency has been a quiet one for the Minnesota Vikings. Instead of signing players to improve their team, they have been busier with helping players pack their bags as they head off to new cities. After losing both of their starting cornerbacks from last season, the Vikings need to sign Dre Kirkpatrick.

Xavier Rhodes, Trae Waynes and Mackensie Alexander are all gone, and the Vikes haven't signed replacements for any of them. This accompanies the presumed loss of edge rusher Everson Griffen. This means that the once dominant Minnesota defense could be in trouble if they don't start making some moves quickly.

The Cincinnati Bengals recently released veteran cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick, meaning another talented cornerback is on the market. The connection to Minnesota would be an obvious one for Kirkpatrick, after Mike Zimmer served as Kirkpatrick's defensive coordinator for his first two NFL seasons.

Since then, Kirkpatrick has gone on to have a solid eight-year stretch with Cincinnati. He made 67 starts in 99 games, tallying 10 interceptions, 302 tackles and 9 tackles for loss. At 6-foot-2, he also gives the Vikings the size to compete with big divisional wide receivers like Kenny Golladay. Allen Robinson or Devin Funchess.

Coming off an injury and turning 31 this season, Kirkpatrick is not likely to see a big contract. So, he would be a nice value signing for a Vikings team that needs to make moves if they want to remain relevant in the NFC North.
