Now that we're 40 games into the 2019 MLB season, teams are starting to show their true stripes. Both the Boston Red Sox and Chicago Cubs have shrugged off poor starts to the season and look poised to again compete for a World Series. Meanwhile, a team like the Minnesota Twins could be in for a regression.
With so much early-season chaos, you may need some help with picking a team in Week 7 of MLB survivor. After going 3-0 last week, here are three survivor baseball picks for Week 7 of the 2019 MLB season.
3. New York Mets
The New York Mets seemingly have an easy schedule this week, facing the Miami Marlins and the Washington Nationals, both in three-game sets. With the Marlins having lost five straight and the Nationals dropping six of their last eight games, the Mets get two slumping teams at the right time. The Mets aren't exactly a juggernaut, sitting one game under .500, but they should at least be able to win half of their games this week.
2. Chicago Cubs
Similarly, the Chicago Cubs face the Nats this week, along with a three-game set kicking off on Tuesday against the Cincinnati Reds. Considering the Cubs are one of the hottest teams in baseball right now, they have a good shot at finishing the week with a record of .500 or better in these six games.
1. Los Angeles Dodgers
The Los Angeles Dodgers have been one of the best teams in baseball, with a 27-16 record thus far. The Dodgers only play five games this week, so they will have to win three of those five to stay alive. Considering the Dodgers are facing the Reds three times and the San Diego Padres twice at home, Los Angeles should be able to finish with a least a trio of wins this week.
