We are just days away from Super Bowl 54, with the San Francisco 49ers taking on the Kansas City Chiefs. With the Chiefs being only 1.5-point favorites, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, we look to be in for an exciting game on Sunday.

Such a narrow spread also hints that the big game could come down to a single game-changing play. While the offenses will steal most of the headlines ahead of kickoff, it could be the defenses that have to step up in order for either team to emerge victorious.

With a focus on the defensive side of the ball, these are the top three defensive prop bets for Super Bowl LIV.

1. Frank Clark - Tackles + Assists: Over 2.5 (-134)

Chris Jones is the player on the Chiefs' defensive line that many say needs to step up, which may be true, but he is likely to eat up double teams much of the time in the middle. This opens up opportunity for fellow lineman Frank Clark, who has totaled four tackles in each of his two playoff games this season. We know the 49ers want to run the ball early and often, so there is a high opportunity for Clark to hit the over here.

2. Tyrann Mathieu - Tackles + Assists: Over 5.5 (+112)

The "Honey Badger" will play a vital role in this game for the Chiefs. The safety has been an important part of the Chiefs' defense, often playing up in the box. He is one of the reasons why Kansas City shut down Derrick Henry in the AFC Championship, which resulted in nine tackles for Tyrann Mathieu. The safety will also be tasked with covering tight end George Kittle at times, which should lead to more tackles. He has at least six tackles in three of his last four games.

3. Fred Warner - Tackles + Assists: Over 6.5 (-134)

Deemed as the linchpin of this talented 49ers defense, linebacker Fred Warner will be the on-field brain on Sunday. He also flies to the ball as well as anyone in the league, totaling 89 solo tackles this season (T-No. 6 in NFL). Warner has totaled over 6.5 tackles in eight of his last 11 games this season, averaging 8.4 tackles per game over that span.
