Steelers Get Update on Cam Heyward Punishment Following Justin Herbert Incident
Week 11's Sunday Night Football clash was an intense matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Los Angeles Chargers. Emotions were running high when veteran Cam Heyward chased down Justin Herbert early in the fourth quarter and the two teams scuffled.
Heyward raised eyebrows after he appeared to punch Herbert in the stomach following his tackle. And the Steelers now know what kind of punishment the league might hand down.
Hayward will, luckily, avoid a suspension for the incident. He could face a hefty fine, but he's not in danger of missing any time in the aftermath.
Herbert didn't find anything grotesque about Heyward's play, either. He just chalked it up to the intensity of the game.
"(Heyward)'s a tough player. Football is an emotional game. Whatever happened, happened in the game. We'll shake hands and say, 'Good game,' after the game."- Justin Herbert
Heyward also offered a lengthy apology after the game for the play looking malicious.
It looks like both sides can move on from the incident without harping on it any further. Heyward and the Steelers will now prepare for a Week 12 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.
