The 2022 Southern Conference Tournament will tip-off with its first game at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 4.

The tournament will take place at Harrah's Cherokee Center in Asheville, North Carolina.

Southern Conference Tournament Prediction

Judging by the odds, the Southern Conference is shaping up to be a three-team race between the Furman Paladins, Chattanooga Mocs and Wofford Terriers.

On paper, Chattanooga seems like the right choice. After all, the SoCon's first-place team has won each of the last seven tournaments, which bodes well for the top-ranked Mocs after going 14-4 against the conference.

A lot of Chattanooga's success can be attributed to the play of Malachi Smith, one of the top guards in the Southern. The 22-year-old has been leading by example by averaging 20.3 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists with .510/.412/.831 shooting splits.

As long as Smith and the Mocs can keep the ball rolling to kick off the tournament, Chattanooga is a great pick to win the Southern Conference championship at +210 odds.
