Fresh off a Pro Bowl campaign at free safety and heading into the final year of his contract, Quandre Diggs has made it known he wants more guaranteed length on his next deal. The Seattle Seahawks have yet to comply thanks to some other more pressing contract needs, resulting in Diggs opting for a "hold-in" during the preseason.

Throughout much of Seattle's training camp, Diggs was present at the Seahawks facility but opting not to practice until this situation was resolved. Fortunately, the Seahawks got a promising update around a temporary resolution for this contract dispute.

Quandre Diggs Contract

On Tuesday, in the midst of Seattle's final 53-man roster cuts, Diggs told reporters he "thinks" he'll return to practice soon. It's certainly not a new contract or a guarantee that the Pro Bowl free safety is okay playing without a new deal, but it's a start.

It's understandable why Diggs is ready for a new contract. In his first full season with the Seahawks, the 28-year-old safety earned his first-ever Pro Bowl recognition by putting up 64 combined tackles (42 solo), 10 passes defended and five interceptions. Surprisingly, Seattle's secondary gave up the second-most passing yards per game in the entire league (285.0), but finished top-half in interceptions (14).

Seattle heads into Week 1 of the NFL season as 2.5-point road favorites against the Indianapolis Colts, according to NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.
