Russell Wilson Tweets Classy Congrats to DK Metcalf for Contract Extension

The Seattle Seahawks locked in their No. 1 wide receiver for years to come when they agreed to terms on a contract extension for DK Metcalf on Thursday. It didn't take long for the franchise's former quarterback, Russell Wilson, to reach out on Twitter with a classy congratulations message.
Congrats @Dkm14! You deserve it all bro! Love you man! God is good! 🙌🏾 https://t.co/9E05ZcFXWO

DK Metcalf Contract Extension
Wilson stressed nothing but love in his tweet and said that Metcalf deserves it all. The extension is worth $72 million over three years and includes $58.2 million in guaranteed money, which is the eighth-highest mark among NFL WRs. His $30 million signing bonus is the most for a WR in NFL history.
Metcalf has been nothing short of dominant since entering the league in 2019 as a second-round pick. The 24-year-old Pro Bowler has logged 3,170 yards and 29 touchdowns on 216 receptions in 49 games played. Metcalf also averages a reliable 14.7 yards per reception in his young career.
Of course, those three seasons were spent with Wilson at the helm. The Pro Bowler was traded to the Denver Broncos this offseason in exchange for a package of draft picks and NFL talent. Metcalf is preparing to play the 2022 season with either Geno Smith or Drew Lock running the offense, instead.
Smith started three games last year when Wilson was out with a finger injury, so it's possible his connection with Metcalf could be better than people anticipate. The Seahawks have odds set at +540 to make the playoffs and odds set at +13000 to win Super Bowl 57, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
