Despite the remarkable play of backup Geno Smith in Week 8, the Seattle Seahawks are desperate to get Russell Wilson back under center as quickly as possible. Wilson recently underwent surgery to remove a pin from his injured finger and is already on pace for an expedited recovery.

Wilson took to Twitter to share a workout video just one day after this surgery to remove the pin. The seven-time Pro Bowler amazingly showed his ability to already grip the football.

Russell Wilson Injury Update

It's a tough situation to monitor and the Seahawks have yet to release a definitive timeline on his potential return. However, he's clearly already ahead of pace. Head coach Pete Carroll revealed it would take at least a couple of days for Wilson to grip and throw a football following this pin removal.

Wilson's already accomplished that important step and just one day into the recovery process.

Seattle sits at 3-5 on the year and fortunately heads into a much-needed bye in Week 9. The Sehawks travel to Lambeau to take on the 7-1 Green Bay Packers in Week 10.
