The Nathaniel Hackett experiment in Denver was a disaster, pretty much form the day it started. Even through the lens of Hackett being a rookie head coach, it seemed clear from Day one he was in over his head.

Hackett didn't survive his first season in Denver, as the Broncos struggled massively, despite acquiring Russell Wilson to be the franchise quarterback last offseason.

Broncos Head Coaching Search

Now, the Broncos are in search of a new head coach to get the franchise back on track under its new ownership group. Russell Wilson has an idea of who he'd like in that position – his former defensive coordinator in Seattle, Dan Quinn.

When asked about the Broncos' coaching search, specifically Sean Payton and Jim Harbaugh, Wilson made sure to call out and advocate for Quinn.

Quinn was the defensive coordinator to the Legion of Boom in Seattle that help them get to back-to-back Super Bowls and win one. He left Seattle to be the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons where he was never able to replicate that success, and was on the wrong end of the infamous 28-3 Super Bowl comeback by the Patriots.

Quinn has been the defensive coordinator for the Cowboys the past two years, which he coached to be the fifth-ranked defense in 2022.

He'll have plenty of competition for the job. Along with Peyton and Harbaugh, the Broncos have also requested to interview Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris as well. Although, even though he's going up against some accomplished and high-profile names, Quinn could have a leg up considering his relationship with Wilson and the fact he was a runner-up for this job last offseason before it was given to Hackett.
