The Kansas City Royals haven't made any huge splashes in free agency, but they have definitely made some potentially savvy moves this offseason. As a small-market team, the Royals rarely go big-game hunting in the offseason, but they did make a move on Saturday to bring in a former World Series champ.

Royals Sign Johan Camargo

Kansas City signed infielder Johan Camargo to a minor-league contract on Saturday. Camargo won a World Series with the Atlanta Braves in 2021.

He spent 2022 with the Philadelphia Phillies, appearing in 52 games and slashing .237/.297/.316. His numbers don't jump off the stat sheet, but he does provide a ton of defensive versatility after playing all four infield spots for the Phillies last season.

Camargo is still just 29 years old and provides a low-risk and versatile option for the Royals this Spring Training.
