Rockies Get Bad News With Antonio Senzatela Injury Update

The Colorado Rockies are trying to stay afloat in the crowded NL West division, trailing the Los Angeles Dodgers by 5.5 games after a 17-18 start.
Unfortunately, that task may get more difficult over the next couple of weeks thanks to a concerning injury report on starting pitcher Antonio Senzatela.

Senzatela left his Monday start after just two innings with a lower back strain. Rockies insider Danielle Allentuck reported on Monday night the sixth-year starter is likely heading to the IL.
Rockies News
The 27-year-old righty has been a staple of Colorado's rotation dating back to 2019. He's made 72 starts during that span, pitching to an effective 4.99 ERA at the hitters' paradise that is Coors Field.
Senzatela's 2022 hasn't gone quite accordingly to plan, but hopefully some time off to heal from this back injury can get him back on track. The Rockies starting pitcher is striking out just 3.3 batters per nine innings and sits with a career-worst 1.888 WHIP across 29.2 innings pitched.
Colorado is back in action against the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday night. FanDuel Sportsbook's MLB odds show the Rockies as +136 moneyline underdogs.
