Carolina Panthers wide receiver Robbie Anderson made headlines this past weekend when he tweeted he was "thinking about retiring." The post came seemingly out of nowhere, and it prompted speculation about Anderson's relationship with quarterback Sam Darnold.

The veteran wideout finally addressed his strange tweet on Wednesday.

Anderson told reporters at the team's minicamp practice that he was simply "thinking out loud." The former Temple standout also clarified he's not seriously thinking about hanging his cleats up.

It's certainly great to hear from the wideout after his tweet caught everyone's attention. Though he's coming off of a down 2021 campaign, losing Anderson out of the blue would be a massive hit to the team's WR depth given he's set to be the No. 2 option behind D.J. Moore once again.

Anderson's numbers dipped dramatically last season following his reunion with Darnold. He posted a career-low 519 yards along with 53 receptions and 5 TDs, compared to the 1,096-yard, 95-catch performance he put up in 2020.

This has been quite the offseason for Anderson, who also changed his name from Robby to Robbie. Hopefully a fresh start helps him bounce back in a big way.
