Raiders Sign Breakout Wide Receiver Away From Division Rival
The Las Vegas Raiders are going through a big transformation this offseason. Their most notable move was swapping out former starting quarterback Derek Carr for former San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo.
Raiders Sign DeAndre Carter
The Raiders aren't done adding to their new offense, though. Late Tuesday, Las Vegas signed wide receiver DeAndre Carter to a one-year deal for $2.375 million.
Carter had a breakout year in 2022 for the Los Angeles Chargers in his fifth season in the league. Carter totaled 46 catches for 538 yards and 3 touchdowns, operating as mainly the No. 3 wideout for the Chargers.
Carter should get a bigger opportunity in Las Vegas, and he should benefit playing alongside the likes of Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers. Vegas is getting a player on the rise for a pretty good value and giving new QB Jimmy G all the tools he needs to succeed.
A lot of futures will be on the line in Las Vegas next season, so a big step up is needed.
