One of the highlights from the 2021 NFL offseason has been a number of top players announcing number changes thanks to a new league rule. Seattle Seahawks cornerback Quandre Diggs has joined that list after deciding to change his number from 37 to 6. Only, Diggs' number change reveals quite a special meaning.

The new NFL number rule now expands the allowed list of numbers for defensive backs to 1-49 (previously 20-49). Diggs decided to take full advantage of that rule with his half-brother and former Los Angeles Chargers DB Quentin Jammer in mind.

Growing up, Diggs looked up to and honored Jammer by wearing #6 throughout every stop of his football career. That included little league youth football up to his college days at the University of Texas. And now, with the new rule change, Diggs will find himself back with a #6 on the front and back of his Seahawks jersey.

Diggs tore it up en route to his first-ever Pro Bowl selection in 2020. In his first full year in Seattle, Diggs ranked fourth on the team with 64 combine tackles. He started in all 16 games and collected 5 interceptions and 10 passes defended in 2020.

The Seahawks enter the 2021 season with the ninth-best odds (+2300) to win the Super Bowl, according to the latest NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.
