Potential Destinations for Trey Mancini If Orioles Move Him Prior to 2019 MLB Trade Deadline

Trey Mancini has been one of the few bright spots for the Baltimore Orioles this year. The 27-year-old first baseman/outfielder is having another quality season, batting .280 with 24 homers, 68 runs scored and 53 RBI.

With the Orioles in the middle of a long rebuild, trading Mancini to a contender at the MLB Trade Deadline, even though he's under team control for three more years after this season, could help accelerate a potential turnaround with the right return.

With that in mind, here are three potential trade destinations for Mancini.

3. St. Louis Cardinals

The St. Louis Cardinals sit tied with the Chicago Cubs atop the NL Central and if they want to pull away from their division rival, the Cards might need to add an impact bat at the deadline. Mancini could provide a much-needed upgrade to a Cardinals offense that's lacking power, as his .532 slugging percentage would be the best mark in the St. Louis outfield.

2. San Francisco Giants

The San Francisco Giants sit just 2 1/2 games out of an NL Wild Card spot and have seemingly turned into buyers at the deadline. Adding a middle-of-the-lineup bat like Mancini's could go a long way for the Bay Area club as the 27-year-old slugger would potentially provide an upgrade over other outfield options for San Francisco. Additionally, Mancini is versatile enough to spell Brandon Belt at first base, if need be.

1. Tampa Bay Rays

The Tampa Bay Rays have shown interest in Mancini and they're arguably the best fit for him. After a hot start, the Rays have tapered off and could use a bat like Mancini's at first base or in the outfield. With an .873 OPS this season, he'd likely slot right into the meat of the Tampa batting order and he's already very familiar with the AL East, having played there during the entirety of his MLB career.
