Patriots Starting QB Odds Favor Jarrett Stidham Following NFL Draft

The New England Patriots' quarterback situation is as questionable as it has been in decades, with no obvious starter following the NFL Draft.
Who is the New England Patriots Quarterback Now?
But while the situation from the outside looks confusing, the Patriots not drafting a quarterback presents a sense of confidence. Currently, the odds favorite to win the starting job is second-year quarterback Jarrett Stidham (-220), according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
The Patriots had 12 picks at the start of the 2020 NFL draft and didn't use any of them to select a QB.

However, all we really have to base Stidham's possible NFL success on is last season's preseason performance, where he showed potential. He completed 67.8 percent of his passes for 731 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. Stidham also has the ability to use his legs, running for 88 yards, which will be useful behind an offensive line that has struggled recently.
Second in the odds to be the starter is veteran Brian Hoyer (+250), who has more experience in the Patriots' system and more experience in the NFL overall. He has played in 23 games overall for the Patriots, but has not made a start. Still, he now has three different stints with the team, showing Bill Belichick's fondness of the veteran.
Reports have said that the Patriots plan to bring in a third quarterback behind these two. Could they sign the polarizing Cam Newton, or maybe Andy Dalton? According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Newton has +500 odds to be the Patriots' Week 1 starter, while Dalton has +1300 odds.
Biggest winner of the Patriots' 2020 draft could be QB Jarrett Stidham.

The Patriots seemingly always have a plan, whether it looks like they do or not. It will be interesting to see if they commit to their young quarterback or feel he is not ready. The one thing we do know is that the Patriots draft very well and trust their research, which could give us our answer.
