Roster trimming is beginning across the NFL as teams must get down to 53 players before Tuesday's 4 p.m. ET deadline. The Buffalo Bills started their efforts by cutting ties with six players on Monday morning. It was a group that included a pair of offensive linemen in Jacob Capra and Tanner Owen.

Buffalo Bills Roster Cuts

Capra spent the second half of the 2021 NFL season on Buffalo's practice squad after being released from the Green Bay Packers' practice squad in September. The former San Diego State standout is a candidate to re-sign to the same spot if he is not picked up by an NFL team in need of OL depth.

Meanwhile, Owen was added to the preseason roster as an undrafted free agent this offseason. The 25-year-old started 52 games over a four-year college career at Northwest Missouri State and was a two-time AFCA All-America choice. He could be a steal if developed properly on the practice squad.

The Bills are expected to keep nine offensive lineman on the 53-man roster, with eight being active on any given game day. Dion Dawkins, Spencer Brown, Tommy Doyle, David Quesenberry, Mitch Morse, Rodger Saffold, Ryan Bates, Greg Van Roten and Bobby Hart are the names to keep an eye on there.

Wide receiver Neil Pau'u, defensive end Daniel Joseph, defensive back Jordan Miller and defensive back Josh Thomas were the other four cuts. Buffalo is now down to 73 players, which means they still have a ways to go to get to the 53 mark before Tuesday afternoon arrives.

The Bills have odds set at +600 to win Super Bowl 57, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
