Padres Match Impressive MLB Record in Recent Home Stand

The San Diego Padres are heating up just in time for summer. As the 2021 MLB season heads into the month of June, the Padres are playing their best baseball of the season, including a nine-game homestand sweep.

Thanks to a combination of terrific pitching and more from their prolific offense, San Diego's nine-win homestand actually puts this team in rare company.

This homestand marks just the second undefeated stretch of nine or more home games in franchise history. Not only has that not been done by the Padres since 2009, it's the first undefeated homestand of at least 9 games by any MLB team since 2015. The New York Mets last accomplished this feat with 10 wins in April of that year.

San Diego's stats have been impressive as of late. In the past 15 days, the Padres lead the MLB with a 1.70 team ERA. On the offense side, San Diego owns the league's second-best attack with 81 runs and 75 RBIs in 12 games. That's close to 7.0 runs scored per game.

Oh, and superstar Fernando Tatis Jr. capped off the homestand with another epic bat-flip on a grand slam, his 13th home run of the season.
