After finishing the season with the No. 1 seed in the NFC, the Green Bay Packers stand to get even better heading into the playoffs. Green Bay already returned a Pro Bowl offensive lineman in Week 18 and the defense is getting a boost with the return of another Pro Bowler.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported on Monday that two-time Pro Bowl pass-rusher Za'Darius Smith was officially cleared for return heading into Wild Card weekend.

Za'Darius Smith Injury Update

Smith has been out of the Packers lineup since late September when he suffered a back injury that required surgery. He's slated to return to practice this week as Green Bay prepares for the playoffs with a first-round bye.

Green Bay earned the NFC's No. 1 seed after a terrific 13-4 campaign. Smith's absence was clearly felt on the defensive line thanks to his 44.5 career sacks in six full seasons (7.4 sacks per year). The Packers finished with 40 sacks (T-10th) last season but ranked just 16th in that area this season.

Smith and the Packers will face the winner of the Arizona Cardinals vs. Los Angeles Rams Wild Card matchup in the NFC Divisional Round. Green Bay enters the postseason with leading +380 odds to win Super Bowl LVI on FanDuel Sportsbook.
