College football bowl season is finally here. One intriguing matchup this year is the Outback Bowl, which will pit the Penn State Nittany Lions against the No. 21 Arkansas Razorbacks.

The 2022 Outback Bowl will take place on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022.

Arkansas will square off against Penn State at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, FL.

AccuWeather is projecting it to be 82 degrees and mostly sunny in Tampa on Saturday for the Outback Bowl.

Outback Bowl History

The Outback Bowl has been played since 1986, though it was known as the Hall of Fame Bowl from 1986 to 1995 before being sponsored by Outback Steakhouse.

Penn State has made four previous Outback Bowl appearances, putting together a 3-1 record. Their most recent appearance was a 37-24 loss to Florida in the 2011 Outback Bowl.

This is Arkansas' first Outback Bowl appearance.
