Oklahoma Odds to Make 2020 College Football Playoff

After having Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray go No. 1 out of Oklahoma in back-to-back NFL Drafts, you'd think the team would take a step back, right?
Nope, not a chance, as Lincoln Riley and his coaching staff have their men ready to make a run at the College Football Playoff. With Jalen Hurts taking over the offense, too, this team is looking dangerous once again.

As it stands, the Sooners have +198 odds to make the College Football Playoff, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. Those odds rank behind Clemson (-750), Alabama (-235), Georgia (+130) and Ohio State (+140).
While the Sooners feature plenty of playmakers on both sides of the ball, there's no doubt all eyes will be on Hurts. After transferring from Alabama, he's expected to power this offense with zero issues.
In limited action last year, Hurts threw for 765 yards and eight touchdowns last season behind Tua Tagovailoa, while rushing for 167 yards and two more scores. And, no one has forgotten about his play in the SEC title game, where he fueled a huge comeback for the Crimson Tide.
Jalen Hurts led Alabama to a 26-2 record as a starter. He was benched in favor of Tua in the national championship and named the backup this year. But he didn't leave. Today he led the Tide to an SEC title so I asked Nick Saban about Jalen's character. His answer says it all pic.twitter.com/0rVHJFDJdk

While the pressure will be on Hurts, defensive coordinator Alex Grinch will also need to make sure his group is ready to rock as well. If things go as expected, don't be stunned when the Sooners end up among the final four teams in the country battling it out for all the glory.
