The Phoenix Suns completed a sweep of the Denver Nuggets in the second round of the Western Conference Playoffs on Sunday night, but not before some on-court dramatics took place. Near the end of the third quarter, Nuggets superstar, and 2021 NBA MVP Nikola Jokic was ejected following a hard foul on Suns guard Cameron Payne.

While the validity of the ejection can be called into question, it's clear Jokic was there to commit a hard foul, and he said as much himself following the game.

While the NBA has certainly made is much easier to receive a flagrant foul in recent years, many NBA fans and media members were wondering if this particular foul warranted the league MVP to be removed from an elimination game on his home floor.

When Nuggets coach Michael Malone was asked how he thought that call would have gone if LeBron James had committed the same foul in the same situation, he politely declined to give an answer.

Most people around the game probably side with Mark Kiszla's opinion here, but at the end of the day it's still a hypothetical.

The Suns came to play in this series and the Nuggets didn't. A late foul by Jokic in the elimination game wasn't what lost them the series and Malone realizes that.
