The rich got richer on Thursday when the Philadelphia Eagles signed free-agent defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh to a deal for the rest of the season. Suh isn't the dominant force he once was in his career, but he is still a very good and valuable piece along the defensive line. Now he gets the chance to play for a contender.
Ndamukong Suh First Game With Eagles
Being signed this late in the week, it's questionable if Suh can be ready in time to actually suit up on Sunday. When asked about that possibility, head coach Nick Sirianni kept things close to the vest.
Suh will help support a defensive line that ranks No. 20 in the NFL in opponent rushing yards per game. A sat that looks even worse knowing the Eagles have been leading in games for almost the entirety of the season.
Even in his mid 30s, Suh has proven he can still be effective against both the rush and the pass. He was a part of an incredible rush defense in Tampa the last three seasons, and also has recorded 6.0 sacks in each of his last two seasons.
Whether Suh ends up playing in Week 11 is still a mystery, but whenever he does get on the field for the Eagles, he should make an immediate impact.
