NFL Defensive Player of the Year Odds Favor Aaron Donald as Week 1 Kicks Off at FanDuel Sportsbook
The football world is buzzing as Week 1 of the 2021 NFL season is officially kicking off. A decent portion of this excitement comes from fans being excited to see who'll win each of the individual awards, including the Defensive Player of the Year trophy.
FanDuel Sportsbook is currently favored Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle to be named 2021 NFL DPOY at +500 odds. The 30-year-old is no stranger to winning the award. He's been named the league's top defender in three of the last four seasons — joining J.J. Watt (+7000) as the only other player in NFL history to accomplish that feat.
Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett comes in second at +600 odds. The fifth-year veteran has yet to win the award despite being one of the NFL's top defenders over the last half-decade. His 35.5 sacks over the last three seasons are the third-most in that span, trailing only Donald (46.5) and Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker T.J. Watt (42.5).
Speaking of T.J. Watt, he owns the third-best odds (+850) to be named Defensive Player of the Year. He led all players with 15.0 sacks and 23 tackles for loss last season en route to being named first-team All-Pro and the 2020 AFC Defensive Player of the Year.
Here's a look at how the rest of the DPOY odds are shaping up as Week 1 kicks off.
