Through 51 games played, it's safe to say the Anthony Davis acquisition has paid off. Not only is Davis destroying opposing defenses on a nightly basis, he's anchoring the league's eighth-best scoring defense.

Averaging 2.4 blocks and 1.6 steals per game, Davis (-290) is currently favored to take home the NBA Defensive Player of the Year award, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

He's got a pretty significant lead over the rest of the field as well, with last year's winner, Rudy Gobert, checking in with the second-best odds at +310.

Another long, athletic defender, Giannis Antetokounmpo (+650) has the third-best odds to win the award. Of course, Giannis is also currently favored to win the NBA MVP award, and he's led the Milwaukee Bucks to a 45-7 start, making them the sole leader in the odds to win the NBA Finals.

There's a pretty steep drop-off after that top 3, though, with Ben Simmons (+1700) sitting with the fourth-best odds. Simmons' teammate Joel Embiid rounds out the top 5 in these odds, as the duo is tied at +1700.

Even though there's plenty of time for someone to make a late-season run, Davis has established a pretty clear lead in the 2019-20 DPOY race.
