The 2021 NFL offseason has already begun for a majority of teams, and there's six franchises in search of their next head coach. The Los Angeles Chargers, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Jets, Atlanta Falcons and Detroit Lions all find themselves in need of a new HC, but not all openings are created equally.

With that mind, here are the three most intriguing NFL head-coaching openings.

Best NFL Head Coach Openings

3. Houston Texans

The chance to coach a proven star like Deshaun Watson should make any candidate salivate. Despite his organization's failures to build around him, he posted career highs in yards (4,823 -- which also led the league) and touchdowns (33) while throwing his fewest-ever INTs (7). The one big caveat is Houston's mediocre ownership, but the potential to helm an offense led by a generational talent like Watson is worth the headache.

2. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars already have a few nice pieces in place, like wideout D.J. Chalk, running back James Robinson and lineback Myles Jack, but now Jacksonville gets to add Clemson star Trevor Lawrence with the No. 1 overall pick. Having the opportunity to join a young upstart team with tons of potential to grow into a contender again is an exciting situation to walk into.

1. Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers posted a 7-9 record this season despite head coach Anthony Lynn clearly not being the right fit, so the sky is the limit for this team. Justin Herbert, on his way to a likely Offensive Rookie of the Year award, threw for 4,336 yards and 31 TDs despite not having the right HC. A new head coach will not only inherit an offense led by Herbert, but a defense with weapons like Joey Bosa and Derwin James. The core for a contender is already in place. Joining a division with the mighty Kansas City Chiefs might be a little scary, but Los Angeles is on the brink of becoming a possible threat with the right leadership in charge.
