Even though Week 12 may not end with Monday Night Football, depending on what happens with the Ravens-Steelers matchup, tonight's game between the Seattle Seahawks and Philadelphia Eagles is an interesting one with serious playoff implications.
It's also an interesting one for fantasy football purposes. Here's are some fantasy picks for Monday Night Football in Week 12.
DK Metcalf Fantasy
Start DK Metcalf, WR, Seattle Seahawks: Tyler Lockett has been the big volume receiver in the Seattle offense for the last couple of games, but you still shouldn't hesitate to start DK Metcalf. Last week was an anomaly because we know the gameplan against the Arizona Cardinals was designed to be Lockett-heavy (29 targets vs 10 for Metcalf in those two games). Metcalf is still a guy who has eclipsed 90 yards in seven of his 10 games this season, also catching touchdowns in seven games. You can feel as good as ever about firing him up against the Philly secondary, which checks in at 20th in Football Outsiders' pass defense DVOA metric.
Dallas Goedert Fantasy
Start Dallas Goedert, TE, Philadelphia Eagles: Dallas Goedert is clearly back. After catching just one pass in his return from injury in Week 8, he's seen 6 targets in each of the last two games, playing 93% of the team's offensive snaps in Week 10 then 100% (for the first time in his career) in Week 11. He's now played at least 85% of the snaps in four games this season, averaging 5.3 receptions for 60.3 yards and 0.5 touchdowns per game in that sample.
Chris Carson Fantasy
Sit Chris Carson, RB, Seattle Seahawks: Chris Carson is set to return after missing four games with a mid-foot sprain, but fantasy managers should take a wait-and-see approach before plugging him into their starting lineup. A foot injury is a real long-term concern for an RB, and combining that with being more than a month removed from last playing means Carson may be eased back into things, not seeing a full workload. This is also a tough matchup, as the Eagles rank a competent 11th in run defense DVOA (compared to that more exploitable 20th against the pass).
Carson Wentz Fantasy
Sit Carson Wentz, QB, Philadelphia Eagles: Considering head coach Doug Pederson's wishy-washy comments about Carson Wentz and plans to get Jalen Hurts more involved, you just can't trust the Eagles' QB in fantasy this week. The Seahawks are a plus matchup, but Wentz has struggled all year, and if we see more of that in this one he may not even get to finish the game.
