Monday Night Football Fantasy Picks: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em for Eagles vs Cowboys

Two teams looking to take control of the NFC East division meet on Monday Night Football as the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Dallas Cowboys. FanDuel Sportsbook has the Cowboys slated as small 3-point home favorites in a game that is expected to come down to the wire.
If you need some help with your fantasy lineups, here's some start 'em, sit 'em advice for this Week 3 NFC showdown.
Dallas Goedert Fantasy
Start Dallas Goedert, TE, Philadelphia Eagles: Tight end Dallas Goedert must circle this matchup on the schedule every year. In six career games against the Cowboys, Goedert has racked up 257 yards and 3 touchdowns. The 26-year-old wasn't much of a factor in Week 2, but still played in 66% of the offensive snaps. Dallas is giving up the third-most fantasy points to opposing TEs this season and has already allowed 2 touchdowns to the position. Expect Jalen Hurts to target his tight ends in the passing game, which makes this the perfect time to slide Goedert into the starting lineup.
CeeDee Lamb Fantasy
Start CeeDee Lamb, WR, Dallas Cowboys: With Michael Gallup out with an injury, look for CeeDee Lamb to have another standout performance on Monday night. The second-year wideout leads the team with 24 targets and has posted 185 receiving yards through two weeks of action. The Eagles are not the most favorable matchup, but Lamb did score a touchdown the last time he played the Eagles. Dallas is a pass-heavy team and currently ranks fifth in the NFL in pass attempts per game (42.5). That bodes well for Lamb. He has WR2 written all over him in this contest.
Kenneth Gainwell Fantasy
Sit Kenneth Gainwell, RB, Philadelphia Eagles: Running back Kenny Gainwell has garnered some attention in the fantasy football world. He scored a touchdown in Week 1 and has emerged as the clear-cut handcuff to starter Miles Sanders. Gainwell is worth a roster spot, but he hasn't shown a reason to be started. The rookie has yet to appear in more than 35% of the offensive snaps in either game and now faces a Cowboys' defense that is allowing just 73.5 rushing yards per game in 2021 (No. 6 in NFL). In fact, Dallas is giving up the seventh-fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs as well. Gainwell should stay on the bench this week.
Dak Prescott Fantasy
Sit Dak Prescott, QB, Dallas Cowboys: This is not a direct recommendation to sit Dak Prescott. However, it is a warning to avoid him in daily fantasy leagues. The Dallas quarterback has played well to start the season posting 640 passing yards and 3 touchdowns. This just is not a favorable matchup. Philadelphia has shut down opposing pass attacks all season, posting the sixth-best pass defense DVOA rating in the NFL. The Eagles are also allowing just 7.6 yards per completion. The game script here may call for Dallas to lean on their strong rushing game. Fantasy managers should lower their expectations for Prescott tonight.
