MLB Postseason Odds Update After Braves Clinch NL East and Red Sox Eliminated From Contention

Friday night saw the defending World Series champion Boston Red Sox get eliminated from playoff contention and the Atlanta Braves clinch their second straight NL East division title.

With the 2019 MLB playoff picture coming more into focus with each passing day, the top four teams remain the same, according to the odds on FanDuel Sportsbook. The Houston Astros are the favorites, at +220, followed by the NL-leading Los Angeles Dodgers, at +250, and the AL East champion New York Yankees, at +400. Next up are the Braves and their +800 odds.

The Minnesota Twins, a team that is all but a lock to make the MLB postseason, are fifth in the odds on FanDuel Sportsbook, at +1200. The St. Louis Cardinals, who lead the NL Central by three games coming into play Saturday, have +1600 odds to win the World Series, with a big drop off from there.

The Milwaukee Brewers, who are in the second NL Wild Card spot, have made a late surge, despite losing the reigning NL MVP in Christian Yelich. The Brew Crew has won 13 of its last 15 games, elevating their odds to win the World Series to +3000, tied with the Chicago Cubs. The Cubs trail the Brewers by two games heading into Saturday's MLB slate.

With less than 10 games left in the season, only four teams have a clinched a playoff berth, making each and every remaining game a crucial one for these teams from here on out.
