As the 2022 MLB regular season nears an end, several franchises are preparing for a major locker room change this offseason. Between contracts expiring and full firings, several teams will enter the offseason looking for a new manager.

That may also ring true for the Chicago White Sox as they face a pivotal decision regarding Tony La Russa's future.

La Russa's future has still yet to be decided, as he continues to work away from the team with a medical issue, but MLB insider Ken Rosenthal recently named two potential replacements the White Sox must consider.

White Sox Manager Rumors

Rosenthal thinks the White Sox will consider "an experienced, plug-and-play manager." That sounds very familiar to the situation La Russa walked into, but perhaps posting different results. After all, this is a deep roster that's relatively built to win now.

Bruce Bochy and Walt Weiss are the two names Rosenthal mentions, posing the idea as more of a question to readers. "Could a Bochy or Walt Weiss fix all this? Unclear."

The pair offers a wealth of experience with winning franchises. Bochy owns a better track record managing clubs. He worked at the helm of the San Francisco Giants from 2007-2019 and won three World Series titles in that time. With more than 25 years of managerial experience, Bochy brings more than 2000 MLB wins on his resume.

Weiss didn't quite enjoy the same success in the NL West. The former Colorado Rockies skipper from 2013-16, Weiss won just 43% of his games. He did, however, join the Atlanta Braves as a bench coach in 2018 before winning last year's World Series.

A change in Chicago looks imminent, but the front office needs to be careful with their choice.
