Tampa Bay has question marks all over the wide receiver position. Chris Godwin will not play in Week 2 and Julio Jones is being treated as a true game-time decision. Mike Evans is expected to suit up, though, and fantasy managers should not hesitate to start him against the New Orleans Saints.

Mike Evans Fantasy Outlook

Evans missed practice on Thursday with a calf injury, but did return in a limited capacity on Friday. Given the Buccaneer's lack of depth at the moment, there should be no expectation of a snap count for the veteran. Evans is the best option quarterback Tom Brady has in a pivotal divisional matchup.

Everyone is going to look at the matchup Evans draws against Marshon Lattimore in coverage and point out how the Tampa Bay WR has gotten shut down in the past. Yes, it certainly puts a damper on Evans' ceiling this week. However, it does not make him someone worth benching by any means.

Evans looked every bit like a No. 1 WR in Week 1 as he hauled in 5 of his 7 targets for 71 yards and 1 touchdown. Keep in mind he found the end zone against the Saints in Week 8 last season and saw 24 red zone targets throughout the year. His size gives him a clear advantage at the end of the field.

It's easy to overthink things in fantasy football. Just remember that Russell Gage and Breshad Perriman join Jones with a "questionable" status for Sunday's contest, too. Evans may be the only WR Brady can consistently target with Scotty Miller, Jaelon Darden and Kaylon Geiger backing him up.

For now, Evans checks in as the No. 6 WR in The Duel's Week 2 PPR fantasy football rankings.
