Mike Davis Fantasy Outlook Significantly Improved by Christian McCaffrey Injury Update

Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey has missed the majority of the season due to various injuries. But his replacement, Mike Davis, has been better than anyone could've reasonably expected, checking in as the RB15 in PPR formats.

And he'll likely get another chance to showcase his skills in the regular-season finale, as CMC looks like he'll miss this one as well.

However, Davis gets a really tough matchup in Week 17, as he faces the New Orleans Saints' stout defense. New Orleans is giving up the fourth-fewest rushing yards per contest, surrendering just 95.2 per contest. No team surrenders less PPR points per game to opposing RBs than New Orleans.

That makes Davis a low-end RB2 or FLEX option in Week 17. His floor might be a little lower than expected, however, as he only put up 36 yards from scrimmage against this defense in Week 7.

Still, he's a decent option in the regular-season finale.
