One team that's no stranger to playing in bowl games is the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders. Here's everything you need to know about MTU's bowl history before making its next appearance.

Middle Tennessee Bowl Game History

College football fans have gotten familiar with Middle Tennessee given it has made seven bowl appearances in the last decade. The Blue Raiders have played in a total of 14 bowl games all-time.

Middle Tennessee's first bowl game appearance came in the 1956 Refrigerator Bowl under head coach Charles M. Murphy. The Blue Raiders fell short in a 27-13 loss to Sam Houston State, but earned their first ever bowl win three years later thanks to a 21-12 Tangerine Bowl victory.

The Blue Raiders' most recent bowl appearance was in the 2022 Hawai'i Bowl against San Diego State. MTU topped the Aztecs in Honolulu, winning 25-23.
