Michael Gallup Fantasy Outlook Points to Big Value in 2020 Drafts

Michael Gallup more than doubled his production from his 2018 rookie season to his second year in the league in 2019. He went from 33 receptions for 507 yards and 2 touchdowns in 2018 to 66 receptions for 1,107 yards and 6 TD's just one year later.

Heading into year three on a Cowboys' offense that has the potential to be one of the most efficient in football with Dak Prescott back at the helm, Gallup once again has a strong fantasy outlook.

Gallup currently has an average draft position (ADP) of 76.3, which ranks him as a WR33 in 2020. Based on his WR22 finish last season (in only 14 games, no less) this would represent slight downgrade for the wide receiver.

On a per-game basis, Gallup ranked even higher, coming in as the 18th-ranked wideout in 2019. The best may still be yet to come for the third-year player too.

After Gallup returned to action in Week 5, he actually saw more total targets than the Cowboys' presumed No. 1 WR Amari Cooper (98 to 90). Even if it's the addition of rookie phenom CeeDee Lamb that worries analysts, have no fear, Randall Cobb and Jason Witten accounted for almost 30 percent of the Cowboys' targets in 2019 and both are now playing elsewhere. The duo each saw 83 targets, so they leave plenty of volume up for grabs in 2020.

Based on these numbers, Gallup seems like a slam-dunk at his current draft status. He has exceeded expectations each of his first two seasons, a task he might just accomplish again in 2020.
