Michael Carter Fantasy Outlook
The rookie running back was finally coming into his own in Weeks 7-11 prior to the ankle injury. Carter operated as RB5 in PPR leagues during that span, seeing a desirable 19.2 opportunities (12.8 carries, 6.4 targets) during that span and notching 53 rushing yards, 4.6 receptions and 48.8 receiving yards per game.
New York's offense has sputtered since Carter left the lineup, going from 408.4 yards per game in Weeks 7-11 to 267.7 per game since Week 12.
On paper, Miami's defense rates well against the run by allowing the eighth-fewest PPR points to opposing running backs and ranking 14th in Football Outsiders' run-defense DVOA metric.
Carter injured his ankle in Week 11 against the Dolphins, but still managed to put up RB27 numbers in just 20 offensive snaps (33%), so he's trending towards RB2/FLEX value if reinstated from the IR before Sunday.
