Micah Hyde Carted Off at Bills Practice With Concerning Injury
By Larry Rupp

NFL training camp is essential for players to get into rhythm before the start of the regular season. Avoiding getting hurt during those reps is still the most important thing, though. The Buffalo Bills are hoping safety Micah Hyde will be okay after he was carted off on Friday with a concerning injury.

Hyde fell hard on his right side following a dropped interception in 11-on-11 drills, according to team reporter Jon Scott. Fellow safety Jordan Poyer called for the training staff almost right away, which is never a good sign. Hyde was reportedly favoring his right hip and couldn't put weight on his foot.
The 31-year-old originally walked to the sideline with a limp and no assistance, but needed a cart to make it back inside the facility. The good news is that he did not seem to be in major pain as he exited for testing. An update on his status should be released by the team in the coming days.
The Bills need Hyde to stay healthy given the role he plays on defense. The Pro Bowler has racked up at least 70 tackles in each of the last three seasons, while missing only one game. He shined in 2021, logging a career-high 5 interceptions, 10 pass breakups, 1 forced fumble and 2 fumble recoveries.
Buffalo has to hope that a strong returning defense and a few added weapons on offense will be enough to make it to the Super Bowl for the first time since 1993. The Bills have the best odds to hoist the Lombardi Trophy next February at +650, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
