The New York Mets engaged in sabotage tactics on Tuesday, poaching away a promising bullpen arm off the New York Yankees waivers.

A former eighth-round draft pick, right-handed reliever Stephen Ridings is now a member of the Mets.

Ridings inked a minor league deal with the Yankees in 2021 after a couple of different MLB stops. He quickly rose up the ranks after posting an impressive 1.24 ERA in stints with the Yankees' Double-A and Triple-A squads.

The hard-throwing reliever even earned a spot on the 40-man roster to avoid Rule 5 draft protection last offseason before a shoulder injury cost him the entire 2022 campaign. He appeared in 5 MLB games, allowing just 1 earned run and striking out 7 batters in 5.0 IP.

Despite the injury issue, Ridings is a talented addition to Buck Showalter's bullpen.
