Mets News: Jacob deGrom Leaves Start With Potentially Troubling Injury

It seems like every time that New York Mets ace Jacob deGrom takes the mound, the entire MLB is in for a treat. That was no different on Friday night after deGrom dazzled Mets fans with 6.0 innings pitched, giving up just 1 hit while striking out 10.
The only issue? deGrom may have gotten hit by the injury bug, once again. Even after throwing only 80 pitches, the two-time Cy Young Award winner exited the game early due to flexor tendonitis. Keep in mind, deGrom has already missed a few weeks in mid-May and owns a troubling injury history throughout his brilliant career.

Jacob deGrom Injury News
Regardless, he's one of the best pitchers on the planet when healthy. The Mets will reevaluate their ace pitcher on Saturday and hope for some good news. After the game, deGrom said that his "level of concern is not too high," however, any injury to a pitching elbow will surely raise some eyebrows.
The Mets are hopeful this is a minor situation and they can get their ace back on the bump as soon as possible. After all, he's a leading NL Cy Young candidate this season with his -210 odds at this point on FanDuel Sportsbook. In 10 starts, deGrom leads all of baseball with an unheard of 0.56 ERA, 0.92 FIP and 0.531 WHIP while striking out 14.5 batters per nine innings.
