Mets Linked to Risky Bullpen Arm from Yankees

The New York Mets have had quite the busy offseason, spending a ton of money to bring in a slew of free agents in an effort to get over the hump and win a World Series after their 101-win season in 2022 fell short in the playoffs.
With pitchers and catchers already reporting for the Mets and Spring Training about to get underway, New York is still looking to add to their roster, and it could be targeting a former member of their cross-town rival, the New York Yankees.
Zack Britton Mets Rumors
Former Yankees reliever Zack Britton threw a showcase this week for potentially interested teams and the Mets were one of the teams in attendance.

Britton, a once dominant reliever, has struggled with major injuries the last few years. He's failed to pitch more than 19.0 innings since 2019 and in 2022, only managed to pitch two thirds of an inning the entire season.
It's clear the Yankees have moved on, but seemingly now healthy, the 35-year-old lefty believes he can still be a real contributor to a team's bullpen. The Mets could use another lefty arm, but surely they will have to be convinced of Britton's reliability and health before making that move.
If the Mets were impressed enough at Britton's showcase, we could see a minor league deal or non-roster camp invite, giving Britton the chance to make the team after proving himself in Spring Training.
The Mets are currently +800 to win the 2023 World Series, tied for third best in baseball, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest MLB odds.
