With a 36-24 record this season, the Dallas Mavericks are performing well in what is a tough Western Conference. Much of this success can be attributed to second-year star Luka Doncic, who is a legitimate NBA MVP candidate.

The Mavericks have found themselves in trouble when Doncic is unable to suit up, however, struggling to string together wins when he's hurt.

Mavericks Record Without Luka Doncic

As of March 1st, the Mavericks have struggled to a 5-17 record in 22 games with Doncic on the shelf. That's compared to a 31-17 record when Doncic plays — a drop from a .646 win percentage to a .227 win percentage.

The results were less dramatic in Doncic's rookie year, as the Mavs went 28-44 when he played, but 5-5 in the 10 contests he missed. His impact on the team's success has clearly grown by leaps and bounds in his second-year breakout.

The Mavericks are competing for a playoff spot, and with this year's drastic shift in success with and without Doncic, they'll need him healthy as often as possible.
