Matt LaFleur Shares Wildly Confusing David Bakhtiari Injury Update

The Green Bay Packers need all hands on deck if they hope to beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this weekend. A strong performance from the Packers' offensive line is a must to pull off an upset, leading Green Bay fans to hope this is the week that offensive tackle David Bakhtiari (knee) finally makes his 2022 debut.
Unfortunately, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur couldn't provide much clarity regarding Bakhtiari's situation on Thursday. If anything, LaFleur made the situation even more confusing by only saying "we'll see" as to whether or not the veteran tackle would suit up for the day's practice.
Matt LaFleur said regarding David Bakhtiari's absence from practice yesterday that they're trying to figure out what works best for him and the team "to try to get him back as soon as we can."

When asked whether Bakhtiari would practice today, LaFleur said: "We'll see."
David Bakhtiari Injury Update
After the veteran didn't practice on Wednesday, LaFleur also told reporters that the Packers are "trying to figure out what works best" when it comes to Bakhtiari's recovery. That's far from a concrete answer, so it's understandable if fans are even more concerned about the 30-year-old's status going forward.
Bakhtiari's knee issue has affected him for nearly two years now. The five-time All-Pro OT tore his ACL during a December 2020 practice and has only played one game since then due to several setbacks.
Green Bay could use a healthy Bakhtiari after how underwhelming their offensive line has been this season. Aaron Rodgers has faced pressure on 35.8% of his dropbacks (13.5% more than 2021) and has already been sacked seven times, putting him on pace for nearly 60 after taking just 30 sacks last year.
Unless a big change occurs, things don't look promising for Bakhtiari to suit up in Week 3. If he's forced to miss yet another game, the Packers could have a tough time with a Buccaneers defense that's racked up 28 pressures and an NFL-leading 10 sacks after two weeks.
Packers vs Buccaneers Week 3 Odds
The upcoming NFC clash is shaping up to be a close one, but Green Bay could use help shifting the odds in its favor. FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds list the Packers as 1.5-point road underdogs against the Bucs just three days before kickoff.
