The Miami Dolphins will likely be without running back Matt Breida once again this week as he continues to battle a hamstring injury that will cause him to miss his second consecutive game. Breida was expected to be in line for a bulk of the backfield touches.
This news obviously crushes any fantasy value Breida had this week. Fantasy football managers looking to stream Breida as a fill-in running back will now need to look in other directions as the Dolphins' will likely employ a running-back-by-committee approach in Week 10.
Jordan Howard and Salvon Ahmed Fantasy Outlook
Breida's absence benefits running back Jordan Howard more than anyone. Howard led the backfield last week with 10 carries, but he rushed for just 19 yards and a touchdown. His usage in the red zone is definitely a positive aspect to his game, but he doesn't see enough volume to be started in fantasy football unless you're desperate.
The other running back set to see some touches last week was Salvon Ahmed. The former Washington Husky made his NFL debut in Week 9 and carried the ball 7 times for 38 yards. He did play the highest percentage of the offensive snaps (46%) among Dolphins' running backs, but he's merely a bench stash in fantasy football.
