The Seattle Mariners have already had a busy offseason even before the MLB Winter Meetings got underway, and the news just keeps coming.

Dylan Moore Injury Update

Now, we get an update about one of Seattle's current players. Utilityman Dylan Moore is set to undergo offseason surgery for an injury to his core, which he was dealing with at the end of last season.

The timeline for Moore's recovery is estimated to be 6-8 weeks, which gives him plenty of time to recover before Spring Training.

More played 104 games for the Mariners last season as the ultimate Swiss Army knife, appearing at every position except for pitcher and catcher.

That type of defensive versatility is exceptionally rare in today's game with the emphasis on specialization. Moore did leave some things to be desired at the plate, slashing just .224/.368/.385, but his value comes elsewhere.

Having a healthy Moore on the roster will be critical to helping Seattle make it back to the playoffs after ending its 20-year postseason drought in 2022.
